Shout to Me is an audio-based community where you can hear from and talk to people around you, local TV/radio stations and public service agencies about share-worthy topics such as breaking news, weather and road conditions.
As a bonus, if you record a shout that’s particularly interesting or informative it may get played on a local television or radio station!
DRIVER FRIENDLY
Shout to Me is designed so you never have to look at or touch your phone’s screen:
• Record a shout simply by waving your hand over the phone and speaking. The app will detect when you stop talking and automatically send your shout. (Don’t worry, you can always delete your shout after it’s sent.)
• Shouts about events around you automatically play as they come in. If you are listening to music or a podcast on your phone, Shout to Me will pause the other app, play the shout and then resume what you were listening to so you don’t miss a beat (or a word).
• If your phone is connected to your car’s Bluetooth system, you can play and record shouts using your car’s built-in speakers and microphone.
CURATED
Shouts are professionally curated before being sent out. This means you’ll only hear the best shouts after they have been independently verified by Shout to Me staff.
And, because of Shout to Me’s partnership with local media outlets and public service agencies, you’ll also get timely and accurate information directly from reporters and emergency response officials.
NOTE
Shout to Me uses GPS to find your location both when recording shouts and when deciding which shouts to play. Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. To prevent Shout to Me from draining your battery when in the background, either turn the scanner off before closing the app or disable background processing entirely from the Settings page.
